History
Garen's Well started as a prosperous city safe from most of the corruption Deridah on Shard. The village, after a few years of poor harvests were overtaken by a small group of nobles (two of which were the twins Lykulla and Lokthux who went on to bring corruption to Loredas) who, not only publicly sacrificed the King to the eponymous well in the town square (which unknown to all but a select few was actually an oversized Mimic), but also started an institution of slavery to bolster the economy.
Now a slaver city, with the King ritually sacrificed every few decades to ensure the nobles keep the true power in the city, its population remains convinced of their traditions and the success of the slavery industry. In the year 202 a new King (Jakki) is named as he is believed to be the long lost son of the current king. He escaped with the help of the future Godkillers.
In the year 203 Jakki, significantly more powerful after the trials of slaying Balimor returned with a small team known as the Time Squad and publicly executed the head slavers of Garen's Well, destroyed the well, and gave the city an ultimatum to free their slaves or face destruction. In the coming years the city fell into disarray in the economic vacuum that the end of slavery created.
In 207 it was attacked by Shadir - God of Hatered while a group working for Thaler that would later go on to become the founding members of Fortune Networks tried to escape him. Much of the city is destroyed despite the intervention of the gods Alumes and Femirex Alder.
Further disaster was brought to the city by Shadir - God of Hatered when he and a group of Dark Elves summoned The Wandering Plague only to be stopped by Jakki, Aien Yinvyre, Ēdwhâ Qhēnnueigh, Drake, Bhato Va'Losh, and Neville. Though the destruction ensured the city would never truly recover with the plague continuing to affect the area for a year to come.
The ruin now stands as little more than a large camp for those willing to ignore the cursed history of the place.
The signifigant Death and Destruction left a wound on the fabric of magic in the ruin. One that a young Athrun tapped into, recieving a destiny from the Deep to become it's god.
