Soulburst
During the War of Balimor, the Godkillers united with the ARCS Federation, Thaler, Maximilian Caelos V, Tandil Eranthur, the Ascended Heroes, and Samuel Eshpard to bring the God of Destruction to its knees.
Being one of the two primordial forces intrinsic to the world, Samuel Eshpard realizing the god was immortal deduced that the only way to stop the destruction would be to force the power into a different form. His unique parentage of a father born of Aether and a mother with Deridah flowing through her gave him a specific chance. With the concentrated power of Aether from the Ascended Heroes and the sun's energy taken by the Godkillers, he was able to take the power of Balimor into his mortal body.
It was then that Balimor's destructive energy overpowered Sam's soul, forcing the Godkillers into a grueling battle with the hero, doing everything he could to contain the raw power. It was only after Phantom ripped out his own spark to break the god's shield was Jakki able to slow his reflexes to make him even beatable. Bhato Va'Losh assisted Sam in controlling his own body enough to stop the god from unleashing its full power. With Ifrah keeping his focus and peppering him with arrows, it was Crux who was able to deal the final blow to the corrupted hero.
The death of Samuel Eshpard was the opening of a magical floodgate. All the power of the two primordial gods, Alios and Balimor, all of their Aether and Deridah, was concentrated into a single mortal host. And that host was just killed, releasing all of the energy into the world. The energy created a new orange sun, replacing the one absorbed by The Lighthouse. That same burst of magic spread across Terra creating 12 Archfiends by bestowing them with Deridah, and the 12 new gods by bestowing existing people with powerful Aether magic. The special cases of which were the four Ascended Heroes being brought fully into godhood, Felix and the trapped soul of Dreamer combined into Femirex Alder, and Alumes being created whole cloth by the Aether.
