Plainér Miner's Village

As you travel northward and toward the Plainér Mines, you come across another small plaza. This one is clogged with carts carrying stone and ore from the mines, and they block the road in many places. The largest number are gathered at the south side of the plaza, where you can see a few stone warehouse where the stone is being held before being transported elsewhere. At the north end of the square, you can see a large smelter for that ore, as well as a small smithy. Next to the river is another small shop, although it appears that this shop is staffed by sculptors due to the small statues and busts on display. A small white bridge crosses this river, and there is a multitude of small huts and hovels located all over that side of the river.

Purpose / Function

This is the main plaza for the local miners. Proximity to the mines means that all of the stone coming out of the mines is sent through this square at some point or another. The local mason and the mine's smelter is also located here, and those looking to purchase stonework, dungeoneering tools, or unworked metals can do so here.

Alterations

When the merchants left this square for the new one downriver, the stores were converted into warehouses and storerooms, although the miners are in need of more such warehouses nowadays.

History

This plaza used to be the centre of Plainér Town, with the lower town being made about a century later when the hills made it difficult to expand. After that point, only mining-related operations took place here, and the miners in town stayed in their huts on the other side of the old stone bridge.
