Plainér Magistrate's Manor
Just off of the local town plaza, you can see a large building surrounded by a high stone wall. The stones of the wall and of the building are a bright white, being made of the famous Plainér Marble. This causes the building to shine brightly in the evening light. It has a bright red roof, and you can see some light reflecting off of glass windows on its highest level. The pair of guards that you can barely make out standing in front of it indicate that this is likely the house of the local Magistrate.
As you get past the wall, you can see that the wall made you misinterpret the size of this structure. It has three stories, with an enlarged attic area being a fourth story on top of that. There are several detailed columns and window dressings that depict crawling vines or frankly grotesque faces leering out at the people below. A small stable is attached to the house on the side, and a man is sweeping out the large area in front of the house.
Inside, there is a sumptuous red carpet that goes across the wooden floors, and about halfway down this main hall, there is a wooden desk with a thin man working at it, writing down something. Just behind him is a hallway, and at the far end of the room is a gigantic staircase of white marble. On your right, there is a small door, barely noticeable and rather plain in comparison to the rest of the room.
Alterations
Successive generations of Magistrates and their courts have added new stories and rooms to the structure organically, to the point that some portions of the house are difficult to access or straight up impossible to enter.
Architecture
The manor and its outer wall are constructed of the town's main export, the brilliantly white Plainér marble. As the sale of Plainér marble is an incredibly lucrative trade, the interior furnishings are top-of-the-line, having been brought from some of the best carpenters and joiners in the Empire.
History
This manor was one of the first buildings to be built in the town following its absorption into The Gratic Empire, although it was originally a much smaller building. As the years have passed, the building has become larger and more imposing as the Magistrate has made many thousands of gold pieces from the sale of the town's marble. The third story was added a decade or so ago, and the previous Magistrate was responsible for its construction. Due to its large size but small number of inhabitants, the third floor and the attic haven't seen use in years.
