It Came From the Far Realm
In the
Bone Orchard resort, Red looked up through the destroyed ceiling at the sky above and experienced a vision. The sky turned dark and he saw the stars, a large red/purple scar and a comet. He
remembered his life as Anuna and his mission to find members of the Cerulean Conclave. He remembered that the heavens were in trouble: the constellations had fallen out of their perfect alignments because the dependable celestial mechanations had stopped. Red/Anuna realized that every day that passes thins the boundary between the multiverse and the Far Realm.
Meanwhile, Lat'num inspected the damage inside the Bone Orchard. There was a psychic residue that covered everything. It reminded Lat'num of a class of creatures called aberations, which included aboleths and illithids, originally from the Far Realm.
Are You a Hexabeyance?
Back in their suite in the Bulwark Road resort, Berov and S'thom counted the group's inventory while Gorgoroth meditated, Renetrae rested and Lat'num studied the
Hexabeyance. He noticed that
Zeitundraum reacted to the presense of other two Hexabeyance,
Erathis' Charter and
Aufklarung.
After many hours of experimentation with each of the items they all carried, Lat'num tracked a third reactive item. Gorgoroth's eggshell, carried since he received Hellhammer and his true history from his parents, generated a response in Zeitundraum similar to the other Hexabeyance. When Gorgoroth and Lat'num touched the shell simulteanously, the githzerai had a vision.
Lat'num saw his son
Mal'Num Leng in a potato farm, holding Gorgoroth's hammer and the dragonborn egg. A fragment of the eggshell lay in the dirt at their feet.
The party wondered if Gorgoroth or the egg was a Hex, or a part of one. If it was Gorgoroth, how could they access its power? If it was the egg, did the vision indicate they needed to retrieve the lost fragment from Gorgoroth's farm in
Brindol?
Gorgoroth shared his Notes on the Desert of Desolation and the Labyrinth of the Heart
Renestrae's Backstory
Renestrae shared her personal history. The eladrin originally lived in Elysium, an outer plane. Her land was frequently ravaged by githyanki pirates. They took Renestrae and made her a servant for years.
When they came to the material plane in search of Terrajuncture, Renestrae tried to make an escape. She killed the captain and crashed their airship, but was knocked unconsious in the process. When she awoke, she was in a land ravaged by war that appeared to once have been fertile farmland. The githyanki wanted Terrajuncture for its portals. Renestrae escaped through one of the portals and traveled to a demi-plane where she met her patron,
Karmakriya.
Bodega
The party met with General
Bodega to get an update. They discussed the meteors. Bodega was upset that they interfered in the Boneyard, as
Seethe | Red Dragon will think that Bodega summoned the meteors to overthrow the Committee.
Gorgoroth got Bodega to admit that he once entered the Labyrinth of the Heart. It did something to Bodega's mind. He saw himself as halfling in another realm, where he learned a great deal about business. When he returned to find his friends in a vegetative state, he took on the role of the General and quickly built his empire in
Nanoen.
They also learned that
Wulfhilda Crumley | Necromancer is the daughter of Rufus Crumley, an associate from their past in
Overlook.
Before they left, Wulfhilda gave them some supplies.
Labyrinth Door
The team travelled down to the
Undercroft, the subterranean borough of tight corridors and gladitorial arenas. They soon found an audience chamber and 6 stone pools of water. A dragon head carving near the pools appeared to be a closed door.
Gorgoroth meditated on the door but couldn't find a way to open it. He believed it required a great deal of commitment to get inside. When the audience chamber filled with cheering fans, the hero might find the mental fortitude to open the door.
After deciding to take a break, a drow emmisary from Opal named Karic approached them. He had called to Gorgoroth psychically earlier and now wanted to talk.
