Armorer
Armorer is an Archetype of the Artificer Class available to players during Character Creation. It is the rarest type of Artificer in The Old World, having become all but extinct during the Eisen Civil War. Armorers specialize in crafting technologically advanced Armor powered by magic, which renders them nigh-invulnerable on the battlefield (see http://dnd5e.wikidot.com/artificer:armorer).
Armorers are, in many ways, similar to Battle Smiths, though their training focuses on personal Combat rather than leadership. Their signature "power armor" is supernaturally durable and can be customized either for fighting on the front lines or infiltrating enemy territory. Magical weapons are built into the armor itself, making it impossible for the wearer to be disarmed, and are usually supplemented by a repertoire of powerful combat spells.
Armorers originated in the Nation of Eisen, which used them to tremendous effect against Dragonborn and Orc invaders during the Age of Reckoning. The most famous of their number were the legendary "Drachenritter," who were sworn to the imperial family and fashioned their armor in the likeness of fire-breathing Dragons. The Eisen Civil War, and the consequent burning of the university at Wienstadt, nearly wiped out the Armorer tradition, though some may still be found in the service of surviving noble houses or working as mercenaries in foreign lands.
