Artillerist
Artillerist is an Archetype of the Artificer Class available to players during Character Creation. It is the second most common type of Artificer in The Old World, though it is rarely seen outside of Latia Major and Thule. Artillerists take an offensive role in Combat, using the combined might of magic and gunpowder to sow destruction across the battlefield (see https://www.dndwiki.io/subclasses/artillerist).
Artillerists use magic to create mobile cannons, bringing tremendous firepower to bear without the need for cumbersome artillery pieces. They also tend to be well-versed in evocation spells, summoning fire and ice in conjunction with volleys of cannon fire to overwhelm their foes. Artillerists are, by far, the most aggressive type of Artificer and can even rival a Sorcerer or Wizard's destructive power, while still maintaining the ability to outfit their allies with magical items.
Artillerists originated among the Rock Gnomes of Endelheim during the Age of Invasion and, to this day, make up a large majority of Gnomish Artificers. In time, the tradition spread to Eisen, and was taught at the great university of Wienstadt throughout the early Age of Discovery. During the Eisen Civil War, however, the university was burned and Human Artillerists are now increasingly rare.
