Bloodlick
Bloodlicks, known as "Slaadi" in Archaean, are a species of Monster native to The New World. They are so-named because of their descent from Slicklicks, to which they bear a superficial resemblance. Though primitive, they are sapient and capable of speech. They are generally solitary, but can occasionally be found in small groups led by a Bluelick or Greenlick. Bloodlicks are enemies of the Archaean Empire and frequently prey on Human ships and settlements along the coast of the Great Sea.
They were first discovered on 9/11/213 by Anja, Eagrym, Ma'ago, Ranaghar, Stigr, and Wolfram. The crystals in their skulls are useful Resources for Crafting and have an alchemical affinity for Force.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Bloodlicks are bipedal and toad-like, with wickedly sharp claws at the end of each gangly limb. They have an unnaturally high metabolism and are able to heal injuries with incredible speed, possibly by siphoning blood from their victims. Their bodies decompose swiftly after death, leaving behind little except for an organic crystal embedded in their skull, the purpose of which is unknown.
Growth Rate & Stages
Bloodlicks have an elaborate and bizarre life-cycle. They originate as Bloodlick Tadpoles, which grow within an adult's body and are inserted into humanoid hosts, typically through wounds inflicted by their parent's claws. A Tadpole grows for several days before violently bursting forth from their host, killing them in the process. It then rapidly develops into a normal Bloodlick, a Bluelick, or a Greenlick. Greenlicks, which are the rarest and most intelligent variety, may then undergo a further metamorphosis into a Greylick by performing certain arcane rituals.
