Summary & History
Dun Norgos is not the only small settlement of farmers that exists within the
Dwarven Empire, but it is by far the richest of these small settlements. This settlement has a reputation for being a sort of dwarven retirement village.
The Land
Dun Norgos is in a beautiful region of the
Dwarven Empire, surrounded by both mountain, forest, plains, and fresh water via the
Dun River. Just like the rest of the empire, the region surrounding Dun Norgos is prime for potato and wheat crops.
The People
Dun Norgos is a very small community composed mainly of rich retired dwarves from
Ker Turum or
Dun Alsfell that could afford to build a house and move out to this remote location. Some dwarves have summer cottages in Dun Norgos, while some live here permanently.
The Leadership
Dun Norgos' population is small enough that no leaders have been elected yet. People tend to mind their own business, and when issues arise, it is dealt with together at small community gatherings. Reputation is everything here, as insulting a neighbor is not something easily forgotten.
Law & Defence
Dun Norgos typically contracts out a Sergeant and a garrison of 100 men if required. This is the case with the recent incursion of monsters. There are no other defences to speak of.
Criminals
Any convicted criminals are quickly kicked out of this small, idyllic community. There are a number of bandits that frequently attempt break ins or heists. The people of Dun Norgos are often targeted as many of them are richer than some citizens of
Ker Turum, and without the added protection of the city.
Trade
While many of the residents are farmers, they are farmers by passion and not by necessity. The result is that many citizens of Dun Norgos end up importing their food supply and supplementing it with the local crops. A great number of things are imported from
Ker Turum or elsewhere, as many of the residents are elderly and unwilling or unable to go on long and arduous trade journeys.
