Ernest Stoutblade

Ernest Stoutblade is a squire in The Order of the Gauntlet, a paladin organization dedicated to upholding justice and righteousness. Despite his membership in the Order, Ernest is relatively unknown within its ranks, having yet to prove himself as a formidable warrior.

Determined to make a name for himself, Ernest has sought out strong knights outside of the organization, offering his services as a squire in hopes of gaining recognition. He has been kindly rejected by Tiriel Thasriel of House Thasriel of Elothil, among others, but remains undaunted in his quest to prove himself.

Ernest is a young man of average height and build, but his appearance is very rarely seen as he wears a full knights suit of shining armor (that is clearly slightly too big for him). He carries a wooden practice sword at his side, eager to put his training to the test.

Current Status

Following the False Hydra attack on Cunningham that was orchestrated by cultists of Bhaal, the vast majority of the Order of the Gauntlet and most of the citizens of Cunningham were wiped out. Matters were made even worse by the fact that all that heard the Hydra's call forgot about the very existence of those who were eaten by it. As a result, the leader, Lord Arilosa Tarkos and his right hand man Father Imdarr Relvonder left the town to and abandoned the Gauntlet to instead go live in Norbury.

Thankfully, the young squire Ernest Stoutblade took a leadership position in the town following the advice of some renowned adventurers. With many monetary donations, Ernest has managed to start to turn things around for Cunningham.
