Hela's Rebellion

After the Conquest of the Nine Realms, Odin had no desire to expand the Asgardian Empire beyond the branches of Yggdrasill. However his daughter and heir, Hela, sought to continue the expansion of the Empire.

When Odin forbade her from continuing the war, Hela attempted a coup against her father.

Support by her Worthy, and troops loyal to her as their commander, she declared war on her father.

Her rebellion was eventually put down, although not until after Hela had personally all but wiped out the Valkyrior. Hela's Worthy and her mount Fenris were buried beneath Asgardia. Hela herself was imprisoned in Niffleheim, and her name erased from history. Like her uncle before her, documents which named her were editted or destroyed, and those who remembered her existence were forbidden from mentioning her existence. When Thor was born, he was heralded as Odin's firstborn.
