Magic Users
Magic is a fundamental force of the universe. Sentient beings can learn to harness these forces, usually through spells, rituals, or magical objects, although some beings have an innate magical ability which allows them to use magic instinctively, without formal spells.
Most races of the Nine Realms have naturally high levels of personal magic, but magic users can also draw on the personal magics of others, environmental magic, or extra-dimensional magic.
The uses for magic are almost infinite, but common uses include:
- Portals and teleportation
- Reading or controlling the minds of others
- Viewing the future
- Defence and warding
- Moving physical objects
- Accessing other dimensions
- Healing
- Elemental control
- Enchanting (anchoring spells to a physical object)
- Summoning extradimensional beings, such as demons
