Nobody in the village like the Caravaners nor South Merchants but they see South Merchants as the lesser of two evils. The Brynholder Clan are supporting Livon's Otters who are represented by the South Merchants as a way to fight the Amalrioker Clan although they don’t care about the tool problem. The South Owls are looking for easy marks and keeping a look out for anyone poking their nose into Their business up river The Village Elves are trying to hunt down South Merchants and keep people from tracking the source of the iron back to them. They only suspect the South Owls to exist and don’t know that the elves are involved in the corrupted tools at all. Stionhays is considered the birthplace of Brynhold, the founder of the Brynholder Clan and they’re very traditional.

Birgliyti
Their tools and supplies are being subtly weakened by the elves in BirgliytiIonmal Kunog
The people of Stionhays, The Keeper's Grove, and Vurbiogihin all believe that the statue depicts Iron Aldigyndos although nobody knows who made it and/or placed it.Irmilondi's Basilisk
Irmilondi's Basilisk killed a young man (and inspiring adventurer) out of Stionhays. The Keeper's Grove
The villagers of Stionhays are extremely suspicious of The Keeper's Grove. While they're not targets they've still seen a change in the priests. If someone is going to do their devotions at the grove, someone from town will volunteer to go with them. They won't reveal their suspicions unless they trust the person because they're not 100% sure.Livon's Otters
They're also being supplied by Livon's Otters on the DL.Prensuchdt
Stionhays has a ferry to Prensuchdt but they're large and slow due to transporting stone to Prensuchdt. Because trade to the town is fairly light, it's the only economical solution.Vurbiogihin
The villagers of Stionhays want more guards sent from the Vurbiogihin but the commander really isn't interested in the small town.Questions
Why Here?
It’s a compromise between being close to a major river, the quarry, and a source of wood There is a minor river that feeds into the major river which provides waterWhat Does the Village Provide?
It provides good stone for Prensuchdt’s construction, as well as stone for the other places around the valley (the forts) The military can also use the ferry to get between the outlying border forts and Prensuchdt more easilyWhat Does It Lack?
Farm infrastructure because the rocky ground isn’t great for plowing and growing. The soil quality is poor in the best places. It relies on shepherds and goat herders who use the local forest for grazingWhat Threatens It?
The tools and gear coming up the road have been corrupted to break more easilyAnd the materials coming out have been accused of being inferior quality Irmilondi’s basilisk occasionally comes down from the hills and attacks caravans Travelers disappear after going to the Keeper’s Grove. Stionhaysers are specifically not targeted
