The White Witches

There I saw them, my friends and I arguing at the local court with holymen and women of faith... and there she was, her hair glistening in white, like a priestess of Eilistraee in an enchanting dance... She called to me and said: "No, no...gods can't help anyone. They're just like us mortals, silly, frightened, clueless. She is almost a goddess herself. You know better than anyone that no one can save you, no one, except you". Then, I had vowed that no force, whether benign or good would harm me, for the witches know the true fate of Resurgensa.

The White Witches are enigmatic historical anomalies, consistently emerge in the narratives of the Keatisis and Bafigronians. Tapestry remnants dating back to the initial days of The Bafigron Empire depict them alongside Ervenius and Agonis. Woodcuts derived from the earliest Menedynn missionaries' renditions of the Song of Adis—sometimes even within verses of the Song itself—make mention of these ethereal, pale, golden-haired maidens. Are they elves? Faeries? The accounts diverge on their origin and purpose, except for the common thread that they intervene in the direst moments of heroes. Or could it be that they entice heroes towards their own demise?
