Zufin (Zoo-Fin)

Introduction:

A central region in the Orc Domain. Zufin like Lazgar is neighbors with the Abbas Wastes. Unfortunately the history of Zufin has been much more antagonistic with the Odion. Zufin has engaged in countless battles, skirmishes, and wars with the Odion to the south and its neighboring Orc Domain regions. When not engaged in war, the people of Zufin are agrarian and engage in sophisticated agriculture.

The overwhelming majority of people living in Zufin are Orcs or Half-Orcs. The are several minority communities of Gold Dwarves, Carthan Humans, Halflings, and a number of other ancestries.  

Natural Features:

 

Settlements:

  • Tempkit: The capital of Zufin. House Acantha rules from this fortress city. The city is surrounded by fertile hinterlands that are farmed by the citizens of Zufin while not on campaign.
  • Agrad: A mining village in northern Zufin. The mine is mostly worked by criminals as part of their sentence.
  • Ilgur: A large town and accompanying mines originally considered part of the Umvak region. The town and mines were captured and annexed by House Acantha about 25 years ago under by a younger Lord Rall Acantha.
  • Kelken Keep: A smaller fortress city built as a forward base for campaigns against the Odion. Kelken Keep's populace swells in the Spring and Summer while Zufin engages in campaign or military drilling. During the Fall and Winter months only the guard garrison remains.
 

History:

Zufin is ruled by House Acantha. For nearly five hundred years Zufin has been one of the most militaristic regions within the Orc Domain. House Acantha has been accused of tolerating the slave trade, which has been outlawed since the founding of the Orc Domain. House Acantha strongly denies any association with slavers and claims to make great efforts to end any practice of slavery in its borders.
