Mountain Giant

The Mountain Giants of Colo are a rare breed of Giant that seems to be unique to Colo. No other examples of anything similar have been found anywhere else. Ranging in height from 12' to 20' tall, they are most often described as walking and fighting in a hunched or stooped position, so accurate height estimates are difficult.   These creatures are massively muscled and amazingly strong. A chronicler from Craigshome described one male that grabbed a huge auroch in one hand, crushed it and ate it in just a few messy bites, never employing its other free hand at all. Their only claim to speed seems to be their long strides, which can be as long as 9' per step for a large male.   Only a few females have ever been observed, but these have been described as roughly 25% smaller that the males and having more of their body covered in hair that the males... otherwise they are almost identical. No discription of a mountain giant using a weapon other than things picked up from within their immediate reach (trees, carts, rocks, etc.).   Traditional Colian tactics call for the use of long iron-tipped spears to first blind the creatures, then spears and swords to hamstring them into immobility or collapse, then killing blows to the vitals (upper abdomen, throat, groin or spine).
