Zayn Smithers is a Dwarf of the Clan Hardhelm that has established a busy and profitable smithy in the neighborhood of Tillmans Corner on the eastern edge of the City of Zimnii Gorod.
Zayn is 158-years-old and was raised in the Ward of Rolar. Twelve yeas ago, Zayn was involved in an unfortunate dispute between his fellow Clan members and the then Sheriff of the County of Redstone, Rory Broadshield. The Hardhelm faction lost the dispute, and seven of the Dwarves that led the dispute were forced to leave the County by Broadshield. Zayn packed up his belongings and moved west.

Motivation
Zayn is far removed from the politics of his Clan, but he is still passionately dedicated to the establishment of a homeland for his Hardhelm Clan. He has become rather obsessed with the prospect of establishing that homeland in the far west, specifically in the eastern portions of the Stone Mountains near the Gold Road pass. In the years since he has come to Tillmans Corner, Zayn has travelled the pass several times, and has had some success finding gold in the streams and riverbeds along the pass. He is convinced that the area around the pass hides a vast untapped gold deposit that would make the Hardhelm Clan very, very wealthy.
Wealth & Financial state
Zayn has made several trips up to and through the Gold Road pass of the Stone Mountains. He has collected as much as a pound of gold nuggets and dust during these trips, and even in its unrefined state that gold is valued at a 30 gold guineas ($12,000). He keeps this treasure hidden within his smithy.
