Megaris
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Megaris, the citadel-city of the Theocracy, is a crucial stronghold that controls the Ganymedean Pass - a narrow strip of land separating The Breadbasket from the disputed lands between the shores of Lakes Ganymede and Trost. As a nexus point for many trade routes and the primary mercantile land access point of the Il'Bisal, Megaris has become a beacon of commerce and prosperity, but with this comes a need for enhanced security. To ensure the safety of its citizens and maintain its position of power, Megaris has erected expansive walls and instituted strict entry protocols. Passage through the outskirts is meticulously documented, while entry into the city itself requires the escort of a woman of repute or a Megaran Nun. All men are not permitted to journey through Megaris freely, not even the other Triarchs. The city is an enatic society- women (and non-binary people) are the only individuals allowed to rule or inherit property within its walls. Boys raised here are often sent to other cities, while adult men may marry a local or be sponsored by a Megaran Nun in order to remain. Sponsorship of a male predicates that the sponsor be held liable for any crime that their charge commits, with both being punished identically. While clerics are traditionally a male role in the Theocracy, Megaran Nuns are special classes of female clerics and mages allowed to train within the citadel.
