Umbra

The Second Heaven Umbra, more commonly known as the Black Moon, is a glossy ball of obsidian affixed to a thin crystalline sphere that, while its surface is covered in sharp edges and bladed canyons, generally appears as an black shape in the sky due to the way it reflects and distorts light around it. It is the Throne of the celestial goddess Ragna, ruling over the Principle of Fate. Like its other lunar counterpart Nannar, it occupies the Cloudlands where the Misty Mantle and the Starry Mantle intermingle, and together with Sumeru they form the "outer heavens." Umbra's sphere moves ponderously slow, completing its circuit only every 333 days, which is by which most reckon the passage of years in Uskara, because as Umbra begins to cross and eclipse the sun, it creates the seasons as less light strikes the land. However, it is important to note that while Umbra rules seasons and darkness, Winter is a force all its own.   Umbra has a deep connection with the Esoteric Domains, and one can cross into both Faerie and Erebus with ease there. Beneath the surface, a glittering kingdom of fey called Arcadia has taken root, with Ragna not so much as suzerain as patron and occasional antagonist to. The Commonwealth has attempted to lay bastions here but few have lasted. Tey do trade with the shee nobles of Arcadia often, and join forces with them against the aberrant intrusions from Erebus.
