Petrus the Green (Peh-Trus)
The Green
Petrus is a well-loved political figure in Ofrary. His political title of Governor was won by a landslide vote thee years ago.
Political Background:
Petrus is known for being very financially motivated. His claim to political fame was bringing the attention of the poor wages and living conditions of those who worked and lived in the Logging District as well as the older district of Shrewman. His campaign promised to use his financial success to boost wages and improve living conditions for the lower to middle class workers.
Traditionally, a Governor promises a year of focus and finances to each district (total of 8 in all). However, historically many of the wealthier or flashier districts such as Lacroft and Bexbalt have unproportionally benefited. Petrus promised to double down reform to areas such as Shrewman, Attlegrave, and Tadpole to increase quality of life for the people Ofrary.
Petrus is one of the younger Governors to ever serve in Ofrary, being 117 years old at the time of his swear in.
Personal History:
Petrus was born in Vaeruin and a native to Ofrary in the small shack-lined district of Tadpole. As the oldest of six, he first began making a living fishing and diving to provide for his family with his father. However, as Ofrary grew larger and the district of Tadpole did not, Petrus began working as a logger in the Logging District.
The story of his title is said to have come from his time spent in the trees of the Black Forest, learning which wood was "just right" to be used for various carpentry uses. In fact, his name was given to him by an old elder of Kipburn during a diplomatic outing. This yearly diplomatic trip - or Arbor Walk - helps keep a strong and friendly relationhip between the The Midcomb Guard and Ofrary. Neither settlements wish to have a land war repeated.
Petrus "The Green" was said to have always been in touch with the trees' potential and, of course, his olive toned green skin helped the name stick.
Religious Awakening
Petrus has become the founder of the Múspell, devoted followers of Olris.
Following the "The Shaken Jar" incident, Petrus claims to have communed with Olris himself multiple times. Petrus has become a staunch supporter and even a sort of mouth piece for the child god of fire and ice. This is much to his wife's public confusion.
