Imirus
North of a very active fault line where it meets Fea, the continent of Imirus is also known as the Broken Land, a curious name which seems to have come from the abundance of rivers and waterways that criss-cross the western part of the continent, reaching to the large lakes and inland seas that are the other major feature of Imirus. The vast western forests of Imirus are lush and verdant. Near the very northern tip of Imirus, an extremely narrow isthmus separates the continent from the neighboring continent of Iosse as the only entrance to the inland seas of Imirus from the vast oceans of Valine. The eastern part of the continent is largely temperate desert and attaches to the continent of Iosse through a natural and narrow landbridge. The climate ranges from temperate to subtropical.
Imirus was where humans first flourished and spread from and the Imirusonian are typically very proud of their ethnicity and culture. Imirusonian cultures tend towards strong structure, strict laws and traditions of hospitality, trust and vengeance against oathbreakers and betrayers. Other notable ethnicities are detailed in the sidebar.
The sentient species more comfortable with forest living are abundant in Imirus where the art and architecture of forest cities has reached its pinnacle on Valine. Traversible rivers are so abundant on the continent that they are more popular than roads as a means of navigating the cross-continental distances.
