Once, long ago, the world of Veridia's primary inhabitants were the mighty dragons. That all changed when the chromatic dragons, under the tyrannical rule of Tiamat sought to destroy the metallic dragons, under the benevolent leadership of Bahamut. The Chromatic War, also known as the Great Dragon War, brought the world to turmoil. Entire cities were destroyed, landscapes transformed forever, countless lives were lost. It was only by banishing the Scaled Tyrant, Tiamat, to the Nine Hells, that the war was won, and a new Era began.
The Chronicles of Veridia
The story of Veridia is written by those that live in it. Their tales from the beginning of time are passed down to the next generation. Then their tales are written down and passed on once again. Through times of peace, discovery, war, and disease, this knowledge continues, with new stories being added to it. History is written by the victor, yet the victor stands upon the shoulders of giants that came before. The story of Veridia is ongoing. New heroes have yet to begin their adventure. It will only be a matter of time before their names and their tales are added to the ever expanding epic that is history.

The era of dragonkind and their dominance over the humanoids. The opposing ideals between Tiamat and Bahamut devolved further as they debated on how to handle the other races which have taken root on their world. Bahamut saw the other races as children in need of guidance, and so he sent his metallic dragons to become their leaders, helping them raise mighty cities, forming formidable armies, and mentoring them in the arcane. Tiamat despised the lesser races, and she had her chromatic dragons dominate over the rabble, taking them as slaves, and forcing them to erect massive thrones and gather mighty offerings to the Scaled Queen. Over the next 4000 years, dragons were the lords of cities, sovereigns of nations, and tyrants of empires. That was until the great Chromatic war that scorched the land, when the era came to a violent end.

With his General Kas by his side and an army of thousands of undead, he wiped out broken city-states that were already weakened by the Chromatic War, adding them to his undead legion. It was at the holy city of Sacrosanct that his advance was halted. With the combined effort of the Dawnfather, the Eternal Watcher, the Raven Queen, and their loyal devotees, Vecna was defeated at Sacrosanct in a devestating battle that left the city in ruins.
