Hoarwae Continent

Across the realm of magic lies three major land masses. Cytal, the birthplace of realm travel and bursting with colourful species and cities. Ascor, the land of kingdoms and castles. And the third, is Hoarwae. A hot, humid environment that has given life to a spectacular array of wildlife and lifeforms. From the grasp of Strangle Vine to the local Ignea, there is plenty to see on this continent clear of modern settlements and cultures. Instead replaced with tropical climates and wild magic running rampant.

Terrain:

With civilization hitting the shores of the continent at a later date, along with the warm climate, has led to the landscape being formed of more tropic scenery. From the sandy shores that surround the continent, to the rainforests that have been painted across the land above sea level. Looking to the skies you will see mountains and volcanoes battling for dominance and diving into the inner pockets of the rainforests you will find hot fog swamps and geysers spewing clouds of mist so thick you can hardly see your own feet. Each area filled with life that has adapted and evolved to survive in this harsh climate.

Notable Locations:

Brazen Bandit Port
The meeting grounds of the pirate group the Brazen Bandits. A port with enough space for the fleet of pirate ships that meet once a year to hear their leader speak
Fort An-Ca
Abandoned somewhere in the hot fog swamps, surrounded by Smog Gobs and Traxalan.
Fort Colcha
Standing tall and still active on the edge of the rainforest. This is where exports of Dedrof Metal take place, with the quarry less than an hours walk away from the fort.
Fort Ivamor
Named after one of Captain Hoarwae's sailors, this fort is under lock down after an infestation of Zombie leaked inside the walls.
Fort Perune
Now left in ruins after a perpetual dust storm tore through its defences in the mountain valleys.
Mount Bodeira
The largest active volcano in Hoarwae and the centre point for Ignea tribes, whom fight over this religious monument.

Limited Records:

Little effort has been made to record the history of Hoarwae and the events that occur on the continent. An effort was made late into the age of exploration by the Realm Rangers but quickly failed after the group was disbanded. Therefore, little is known about past activity. The only events which have any significance are the Journals of Captain Horwae, a sailor that focused on exploring the seas in a time when everyone else was off world. Myths and legends surrounding Adolane, the Acuran of Sailing also mention the continent by naming it after himself. But the tales of Adolane are seen by many more as fables than accurate historical recordings.

Exotic Life:

If you walk in the rainforests or hike in the rocky peaks, you are bound to found life springing at you from all directions. With many being dangerous to encounter. A few to be especially aware of can be listed below.
Ignea
One of the only civilizations that call Hoarwae home. A variation of the fiery Ka-Ko-Rae, looking more akin to lava monsters and praying to the volcano for giving them life.
Lah-Vae
The revived remains of an extinct race of horse like creatures, now fly in swarms setting fires due their flaming skulls.
Meracussin
The shadowy panther predator, faster than the eye can see and able to maintain complete stillness whilst waiting for its prey.
Smog Gob
The bulbous grey goblins that have eaten one too many Trancul, transforming their bodies into balloons. Floating around the fog swamps and poisoning the air.
Traxalan
The swamp sharks that fly in the thick blanket of fog, often guarding their habitat with rows of teeth and one of the only creatures to see through fog as clear as day.
Zombie
An infectious spore blossom that acts like a parasite, infecting other life forms and taking over their bodies. Becoming the hosts to spread more spores.
