The Statue of Nabia is a colossal statue of a woman that hangs over a part of the Jirra Caverns known as Nabia's Prison. The Local Fire Elves don't worship the statue themselves, instead using it as a representation of the old Goddess Nabia, an ancient being of Ice that once attempted to freeze the world over, until their god, the Fire Lord Beirunes, bested her in battle and stole her power.

Once a year, a number of Fire Elves of Jirra will stand in a line on the edge of Nabia's Prison. After one person shoots at the statue, everyone else takes turns shooting burning arrows at the statue. Everyone who successfully hits the statue will take another shot. This repeats a dozen or more times until only one person remains who was able to hit the statue every time. This person is then gifted a relic known as the Obsidian Bow.

This bow is said to have been used by Beirunes in his fight against Nabia. In current times, the winning archer uses it for the next year in military campaigns or for hunting until they take the first shot at Nabia's Statue and then gifts the bow to the next winner.

Investigating the Statue

"Ren, I'm telling you! This place is completely filled with Blood Magic, and it keeps coming from all these statues! Something seriously isnt right!"
"Mirielle, Ellis. You two go investigate the giant statue. Stay out of sight."
"You got it boss!"
"Alright."
"Lucia... you need to calm down. Your eyes are starting to glow."
"What?!?... Oh... Sorry."
"Stay with me Lucia. We don't need 'Her' trying to contact you again..."

One of the Knights of the Phoenix Expeditionary Force sensed massive amount of blood magic coming off of the statues. It was filling the caverns and was overwhelming her senses. the commander of the expedition, Renelle Vernador, sent two from her team to investigate.

The two knights, Mirielle and Ellis, stayed out of sight and approached several of the statues without the Fire Elves noticing. They manages to take several chain links from one of them and made their way back to Renelle. On the way, they realized that their mana was rapidly draining and they lost the ability to cast magic. They cut their losses and dropped the chain links and made their way back to Renelle.

The chains were not made of simple Iron or some other metal. They were a special type of Gemsteel aptly named Binding Steel. Its most popular use was in previous ages of men when the chains were used to trap and imprison gods. This metal converts their divine energy into aether that feels similar to the blood magic that Vampires use. These chains force the god to stand still until the chains are fully removed from their being, no matter how many eons it will be before the chains are removed.

"Fuck, why didn't I realize this before!?!? Those aren't statues at all!
Those are actual gods, Imprisoned with Deity Binding Chains!"
