He has a practical outlook on the world around him, often focusing on what there is and what can be done with it and often he finds ways to be resourceful with what he has as a result. He tend to spend a large amount of his time out in the wilderness where he tends to it and take care of the animals when he isn't hunting. He doesn't keep any pets, but instead take care of wild animals he finds, particularly injured ones, before he releases them back into the wilderness again. When he isn't busy with his duties or animals, then he prefers to practice his woodcarving, making a mixture of tools and figurinesi that he gifts to his friends.Background
Kaljei was born on the island of Kiahilani, from which he gets his surname. He was brought up with the customs of the Dulinri and learned most of what he knows through his family and community, often being taught together with Qirandri Kiahilani due to being relatively close to each other in age. Once he grew old enough to pick his calling, he was quick to settle as a hunter for the tribe as he enjoyed spending the time out in the jungle and to tend to the animals out there. Here, he was taught by his mother who was one of the other hunters until he finished his apprenticeship, and became a fully fledged hunter himself. It was during the long time spent in the wilderness with his mother that Kaljei learned to appreciate the moments in the village with his friends even more, as the contrasting lifestyles gave him time to think and be for himself when he needed it, while the time in the village let him be with those he cared for.
