Session 14: Nyx's Island Report
General Summary
On a desert island in the middle of the sea, Lies a tomb where Nyx's secrets come to be. Her followers buried deep, with treasures they sought, But beware, for the undead guardians can't be bought. Welcome to Nyx's Island (notice I didn't highlight). Question is still up in the air whether Nyx really is Nyx. Gwen seems to think so, or at least some spectral representation of her. Apparently Nyx like took her body or something. Turns out Nyx might have escaped from some awful place and stole Gwyn's body to do it. Nyx swears that is not what happened though, so that specter MUST be lying to you. You spent the last part of the evening fixing holes on the ship and then informed the crew to get a good night rest. In the Morning L3-37 Redgrave did an inventory of the ship and Ambrose "Fishguts" Kroop informed you that the water barrel had been destroyed. It then came to light that you only had the one, and it was only large enough for maybe two days worth of water. So now you have to build another one. The rest of the crew got a respite, however, and some took to the island to enjoy some Roasting and Relaxation while on dry land. Your group, however had a destination in mind and travelled for the massive stone depiction of Nyx. When you arrived, you encountered a riddle which L3 was able to find the solution for. With some mirror magic (the oldest kind of magic) you managed to shed the right amount of light on the key and it opened the door. Magnum Opus left Ratscalibur outside to fetch the crew should the door look behind y'all. And in you went! You were greeted by a long dark hallway in what what appeared to be a tomb. Upon initial investigation, you determined, yes this definitely is a tomb. You found an altar devoted to Nyx (the Goddess, not your party member, well maybe your party member, what is going on, ohhhh a squirrel) as well as some empty sarc... sarkoph... Sarcophagi. You investigated further and found a large preparation chamber where Martin d'Jorasco was easily able to explain that it was a mummification room. There was a large pit in the center of the room that Nyx (your party member, not the goddess, or maybe, who knows) could not see to the bottom of. You also found a scrap of paper that had a journal entry from Octavius Elojoi who is Artemis Sindarin uncle. The Journal entry said it was from day 17 of an expedition and claimed something about traps and stuff further in the tomb. You were then on your guard! The last thing you were able to investigate was a tomb belonging to a supposed inquisitor of Nyx (the goddess) known as Captain Flintlock. L3 figured out how to release him from his tomb, and he immediately attacked. Nyx (your party member) was able to convince them that she was Nyx (the goddess) and he began to answer questions. You learned that he had been gone for centuries and that the tomb was a resting place for Nyx's (the goddess) champions and most faithful followers. You talked to him for a bit before laying him back to rest. Martin stole his axe though, and he is P-I-S-E-D (pised?)! What else will you find down here?
