Session 16 - Investigating Axiom Part 1 Report

General Summary

The part convened at Winnow’s Apartment to meet with Kara Towers. Kara explained that Nance had been released from Hewnholm Tower tower as the result of the investitagtion into the train derailment being concluded at the request of Mikto Rezoule, a high cleric of the faith of Mesmer. According to Kara, the case ended when word of the the Gearforged head that the part recovered was being held as evidence in the case leaked. Constable Commander Ogma Horne drop the investigation, ended Kara's investigation into Axiom and placed her on leave.

Kara appealed to the party's sense of morality, hoping that they would help her save the city from a future attack. The party tentatively agreed to investigate the Axiom off the record. Kara has two suspects: Oratorio - a founder of Axiom and a powerful charasmatic voice within the community and Cadence - the head of the Axiom Rangers.

The party went separate ways to investiagte a way for them to enter into the community. Rayla visited with Jondam Klefta to see if he could investigate any former contacts who they could offload the recovered Skystone to. She also asked for him in his capacity as a cleric of Mazarathes to see if he could help her understand her vision of Willow Meadowstride and the Fey Gate. Via a commune spell, Rayla learned that Will may or may not be alive, that his efforts to enter reactivate the Fey Gate are repeatable, anf that the path to do so lies with Yira Inkstep

Feyre and Dac did some groundwork investigating in the Timecog District, wondering if Dac could learn a few things at Renkita Institute of Mechanical Design and Theory. After accidentally enlisting in a class for children, Feyre and Dac instead went to a nearby experimental bar named Alphax where they met Ones, Derek, and Zel - students at Renkita. They were impressed with Dac's artificer skill and Ones agreed to led Dac shadow with him on his work in Axiom.

Winnow sent a message to her former nanny - Nana Rosie - a Gearforged who lives in Axiom. She asked Nana Rosie if she could visit her. Kara Towers messaged back using the sending stone that she gave Winnow telling her that she believes that matter Winnow asked her to check into is connected to the Bezel Street Butcher killings, a string of unsolved murders where several flayed bodies were found off of Bezel Street in the Foundry District. She urged Winnow to be careful and if she needed to talk about anything, she could talk with her. Winnow was silent.

Rayla returned to Hollow and confided in Bramble about Willow and the Fey Gate and her many harrowing recent experiences. When they returned home that night, Rayla discovered the enchanted chisel that had been given to her by Yira was impaled into the door of her home.
