Fighting madness
We lost the pit fight. But I'm sure we weren't far off taking out that ogre. And the crowd seemed satisfied with us nonetheless. But ouch, he hit hard, I think those bruises might be permanent!
Anyway, we got the attention of some dude working for Xanathar's guild. He offered us a hefty sum of gold to fix some issues preventing them to reach a storage of theirs. Apparently a being of some sort had taken up residence there, killing everyone they sent in, except one, who had returned, mad as a hatter. Of course we accepted the job, it was why we came down after all, and the gold is just a bonus. We went to speak with the returner. She didn't say much, poor thing, but I managed to gain some information from her by reading her thoughts. Her name is Laina, and she was scared witless. I saw a red being with wings in her mind, walking away, and she was scared for her soul, scared because she had survived. I don't know what to make of this, but I feel so horribly sad for this woman. I truly hope we can help her by solving this mess...
We were led to the tunnel, given 1000 gold (which they will have fun recovering if we die, I'd wager), and then went to sleep in Daar's excellent tent.
