The devil and the demon

I need to talk to her, ask what she knows. The Erinyes. That whole thing was weird.
It started with us in the tiny hut this morning. We had been led there by someone from Xanathar's guild. I was scared, for my friends- the one who had escaped had a very frightened look. Jay's friend sold his soul to protect Waterdeep... probably her too if i understood Roshanna telling it to that Xanathar's guy. That death slime was frightening, but it was apparently manageable. It was chained. She wanted information from it... She called us idiots when we killed it, wanted us to only weaken it. I don't trust that devil, but I can understand her a lot more than whatever could have been in that demon's head. I need to talk to the harpers about it. To Oghma too, put all my memories in the book.
 
For tonight, food, tablecloth, plates and cutlery, glasses, dwarvish ale- Curtains, bed linens... I'll do as much as i can until they arrive, and finish with their help I guess. :)
 
Let's prepare a letter for the harpers, i'll pass by during shopping. Maybe a copy to Oghma's temple. One to Laeral too? Or maybe not, she didn't want details. And to Amarath? No, we need to tell them just about the developments around the Nimbolos and the stone giants. Let's try to write that letter...
 
I've been out and about for a while, but i'm in town for a while with Narvi and my other friends. We're at (address of the tavern Livsglädje).
Some cloud giants are about to arrive along the coast. My friends and me are going to take care of them, but we will need help. The cloud giants arrive in a cloud castle and they are looking to cartography the ruins of Ostoria, the old giant's empire. It will probably be below the city, because it's very old. It should be a ruin of a fort if i understood well, for the giants coming towards Waterdeep. Most of the giants coming along the way seem to have the same intentions, according to count Nimbolo, the one we met heading towards the city. One of them seems less sane: countess Sansuri in the south, having for plans to rebuild Ostoria, more than just cartography it. If she succeeds, others might join her and that would be bad.
We suspect that the stone giants have mainly for idea to take apart signs of civilization around them to please the All-father. The cloud giants do their cartography for the same reason. To be honest, we have had contact with an oracle to that god, and have our own mission for him. We expect in return to get a conch of teleportation to be able to go to Hekaton's court (the Maelström) and somehow make the giant's order back into place? We know Hekaton's wife (Neri) was killed, the cloud giants claim the "small folk" was behind it. Neri was very positive toward us small folk, and it seems weird that anyone of "us" the small would attack her... until you put into the equation the cult of the dragon. Following the info we have, the ancient blue dragon Imrith is behind the fall of the giant's order. We have to remember how the dragons and the giants fought before. My own hypothesis is that Imrith led the people in the cult of the dragon to attack Neri? I'm unsure. In any case. Hekaton flew away, not to be seen again - as reported by the cloud giant we met. He has three daughters, one of them might be more receptive to helping us. The oldest, Mirran, is wild and stormy. The second one, Nym, is cold and calculating. The youngest, Serissa, is more of a "sea breathe" - much calmer, but prone to take arms if she feels there is an injustice - I feel she might be the one.
Anyway. For the closest task at hand, we'll need the help of archeologists to explore and cartography. I will communicate with the cloud giants via message and try to coordinate the thing. My friends and I will provide safety to the archeologists, since i gathered that the underground of Waterdeep is more dangerous than the streets. If there is anything to know, or anything that would be helpful, I'm sure you'll let us know.
We just came back from Skullport. Xanathar's guild was more active there. We fought a death slime from the abyss, but a devil was holding its chain. I'm unsure how to handle devils. They want order to happen, but they probably want to trick people... This Erinyes seems to think the demon had plans for something for the material plane, and wanted the info in its head... Left when she understood we were taking care of it, but she got at least a soul contracted to her by the survivors from those sent in the room before, maybe two souls. I don't think this is an immediate problematic thing, but it's noteworthy that a demon managed to break through a portal into Skullport. The info could be distorted and/or lies, but she definitely wanted the info it had. Any further info might be useful to keep track of if the demons have plans against the material plane.

Well, let's get on to the shopping and preparations for tonight. Jay's friend Cat is sleeping in the tower, and I have a lot to do. Including getting myself a tankard of sobriety. A family dinner, I have missed those! This day is really the worst and the best.
