After our battle with True Master Xifeng, a man in his 30's, well built, yellow shining eyes, olive skin, brown hair appears in front of us, which we soon find out is Xifeng in a younger form. His true form that of a Sovereign Dragon, not found often within Aolara.
He stands in the centre and creates two semi circles around the centre of the shrine and gestures for all of us to approach. There's a flash and we look around and find ourselves back in the central temple courtyard of Bangol.
Xifeng leads us through into the library and towards the back where he speaks to Elder Zut, an elder Verupan. He then instructs two apprentices to open the vault which was hidden in the library the whole time.
Above the vault entrance is a phrase written in Chankatan that reads "Heirloom Vault". As it opens, a fairly modest sized chamber with various items on display. Elder Zut to lead us in and explain the items as he has categorised each item. Roughly 12 objects that were once owned by previous members of the Ninefold.
1. Adrenal Blades - Raskin
2. Khopesh of the Vulture
3. Hearth - Ape
4. Brinegrasp - Kari
5. Burst Boots - Nentos
6. Frostfell - Elaewyn
7. Moon-Lit Scale Pauldron - Kaito
Owned by the previous Astrol Conduit. The scale belonged to an Ancient Silver Dragon caled Akhidon.
8. Lance of the Magus - Austar
9. Ouroboros Ring - Orion
10. Flanker's Bow - Sif
11. Bandolier of Many Knives
12. Ember Caller - Malaphor
I give Elder Zut my Living Chalice as an exchange for thanks and to start his collection of current Ninefold members.
Kari asked us what the plan is going forward. It is decided that Kari, Nentos, Orion and Elaewyn will form a second group with their main objective to investigate Bricor after whispers of something old and evil stirring there. Our group of Titans Bane, will go investigate Varlesca.
Kari mentions she spoke to her Doyen about how to gain mastery of our elemental affinities and she was told that absorbing elemental energy of an extremely powerful creature would likely advance our abilities, although how powerful the creature has to be is still unknown.
In the morning as we approach the central courtyard, we see every members of the temple there watching us leave. As we make our way down the mountain pass, I see Eya waiting. I hold back and she tearfully says she hopes she's been of help, has enjoyed our time together and hopes to see me again and gives me a kiss before she hands me a blue/silver ring of twisting metal, a Ring of Sending and then walks off tearfully before I have a chance to say anything. I decide to give her a day or two before sending my first message with the ring to her.
As Ape uses his new cloaks ability, the cave like paintings all seem to move slightly. We decide on our plan of action, which is to investigate the Ba'Chi River Crossing where Lady Geller said she lost her monocular. After collecting a reward, we will then venture North, with the aim of going to Sansu for Raskin. On the way stopping off at Peyawa, the giant tree, as well as maybe investigating the Doors of Buldahr before pushing into Northern Chankata to try and collect some jade dust. Once we've done our expedition in Chankata and when we're ready, I'll use Word of Recall to bring us back to Bangol so we can charter a ship northward.
We start making our way to the Ba'Chi River Crossing. During our days travel I notice a feline like creature keeping tabs on us but never approaching us. We see a spiralling crackling energy appear next to Raskin, showing a different world. Sprinting towards us is a small green furry creature. Behind them, a tall red entity, with bullhorns and burning blade with dozens of impish creatures chasing Sailor, an old companion of ours.
The fiend and imps come through the portal chasing after Sailor and we start a battle. A chaotic battle later where we defeated the fiend and his imps. The chaos caused by Sailor's scepter.
Sailor is also in possession of thick dark metal coins. As they scatter we hear whispered screams coming from them. I identify them and they are Soul Coins, a currency used in the Nine Hells, exceedingly rare and used as currency by very high up individuals in the Hells. We decide to destroy the soul coins once Sailor tells us that he doesn't really want to keep them as they scare him.
We rest for the night and carry on towards the crossing in the morning. I don't notice the creature that stalked us the day before but I do notice some slimy soot splattered against a tree. Looks similar to the piles of ash left by the imps.
The Ba'Chi River is likely a large body of water based on the sounds we hear from it. As we get closer, we see remnants of the ambush, and two large trolls with somewhat elongated snouts, sitting in the water, one lying down the other half heartedly searching a crate.
Raskin approaches and they shout in giant at him, thankfully Austar speaks giant and went forward to help. They asked for items and demanded more, then asked to eat us so Austar scared them with Major Illusion and they started running, we assume back to their home base where we'll find the monocular.
