History

Early History

First Kingdoms

Basilisk Plague

In 1177, a pack of basilisks came down from the southern Ketyat Mountains and began harassing farmlands outside of Near Mount. Gran Vizier Almed I sent a contingennt of Yakim forces to aid Vizier Fivl Naifesh the Naifesh armies in fighting the invading creatures. During the battle twelve people became aflicted with Scale Rot, including Vizier Fivl and the Grand Vizier's first daughter Princess Nakis Yakim. During effots to help the spread of the sickness the disease spread throughout Near Mount and Cint as the forces returned home. An epidemic was officially declared two months later as citizens from Hilbad and Osha and the neighboring kingdom of Istbania contracted the disease. Quarantines were put in place throughout the kingdom, and by 1180, under the new reign of Grand Vizier Olim IV, the increasing amount of cases and death began to subside, petering out by late in the year. During those two years the disease killed 13,000 people across the kingdom including Grand Vizier Almed I.

War of Flying Horses

The War of Flying Horses is the name given to the conflict in 1238 regarding an heir descrepancy the Naifesh Family between Balik Naifesh and Vilk Naifesh after Vizier Filivad's death, that needed to be interceded and solved by Grand Vizier Lebon I and the Yakim forces.   After meeting with the Grand Vizier of Cinder and receiving a ruling on which of the two Naifesh brothers should br the new Vizier the brothers left in two large convoys. On the way back to Near Mount Vilk Naifesh sent an assassin after Grand Vizier Lebon I and, on back of the black dragon Blackscale, destroyed his brother Balik's convoy, blasting jets of fire that consumed soldiers and wagons both. He made a point of hovering Blackscale over the main tent of the camp and reducing the whole area to ash.   The Grand Vizier, surviving the assassin with the help of his royal guard, sent out his armies.   During the night, before the battle, Grand Vizier Lebon I rode the red Valerant behind the lines and on silent wings attacked Blackscale, killing the black dragon there on the ground. The battle the next day was decisive, the Yakim forces quickly routing the lesser Naifesh army.

First Attia Rebellion

Istbanian Border War

The Istbanian Border War, also known as the Istbanian Expansion Attempt, is the name given to the conflict in 1355 - 1357 between the kingdoms of Cinder led by Grand Vizier Hannah II Yakim and Istbania led by Grand Vizier Sarah II Scolara. The hostilities began when Grand Vizier of Istbania Sarah II attacked and seiged the border city of Osha after deafeating the Attia forces in a short and decisive battle. Once Hannah II could rally all her forces the following battles saw the deaths of two dragons the blue Celfax with his rider Injax Sil and violet Lokshmi and a complete route of the Isbanian armies, but not before Sarah II, on the dragon Argol melted the bridge at the Talnor Crossing with dragonfire.
