Harvestguard
Purpose / Function
The temple to Mirriam and Curceon in Harvestshield. This serves the citizens of Harvestshield, as they are mostly farmers and peasants, in their worship of Mirriam. Additionally, the lord of Harvestshield is a Guardian and worshipper of Curceon, so in his honour the temple also has facilities for his worship.
Architecture
The temple is made of stone and stands out as most of the buildings in Harvestshield are made of wood and thatch. It is one of the tallest buildings, and holds a bell tower to sound for morning prayers, in various celebrations, or in rare circumstances, warn the town of danger. Many gardens surround the temple and are predominantly maintained by Mary and her helpers.
History
The temple was erected by Mary and her husband Derrick very quickly after founding the town of Harvestshield. It is a place of dedication to both Mirriam and Curceon and serves as a central theme to the town. Mary took charge in maintaining and furnishing the temple, and although she is not a worshipper of Curceon, she made it welcoming and inviting for those who do worship him. It has become a central location for many events, and many citizens will volunteer to help keep it in prime condition.
Tourism
As the only real temple in the town, it serves most travelers religious needs. Mary is accepting of open worship and will do her best to accommodate those who do not worship either Mirriam or Curceon. However, any worship that defiles or impedes others is not tolerated and will be dealt with quickly by her husband and his men.
