Government

Two factions struggle for control of the city, several wealthy merchants and a noble aristocrats, the Elven Lord Hyme Agaraen & a Half-Elf woman named Miana.   The Families influence is tied directly to Lord Hyme who is on the Albion Council. The Families have old money and a lot of it so they control a lot of commerce in the city.   House Agaraen has been the ruler/most powerful for 100s of years. They hold elections of which family takes the lead positions every 20 years but for ages it has always Lord Hyme Agaraens position. Families are given stations in the city and House Agaraen dictates the positions held.   The Brightcloaks were formed merchants were tired of the Monopoly with the families. Miana is also on the Albion Council so there can be influences from both sides.   The Houses are more located in The Courtly Ring and The Interchange.   The Mercantile Guild of Brightcloaks are in The Interchange, The Bowery and the Rugs. The Brightcloaks have a very small presence in The Courtly Ring mainly with an enchanter shop called The Commoners Fortune.

Climate

In the late Autumn months of the year the people of Blightfen who live in the area call this time of year “pea soup season,” an expression that deftly describes the heavy fog that rolls in from the sea during a couple of weeks each autumn. Some days, Blightfen is so enshrouded in fog that is difficult to see farther than a few feet ahead.
