Bainbridge Outpost

This is an abandoned training enter for one of the Atlantean Guard guard units and later the Earth Dwarf guard units. An enterprising mage then took it over to train his personal guardsmen. 

Gradually, it became a colony of like-minded people searching for a place to call their own away from prying eyes. There wasn't much they could produce to turn a profit. So they started training guards and mercenaries to hire out. Afterward, they got hired to staff a private prison/penal colony, that was then named Canadoon Penal Colony. This concept was hard to start but actually wasn't much work to operate. No one actually had to interact with the prisoners, only observe and occasionally punish them.

Much of the complex was actually built into the mountain as tunnels and terraces. There are great views of the ocean. Heating and cooling are no problems, there are multiple springs and a large aquifer. Wild herds of cows, deer, pigs, sheep, and goats wander the islands. 

Demographics

Most of the inhabitants are either Atlantean, Atlan, and a few other races.

Government

The government is run on a military structure, but also a business-like one.

Infrastructure

Since this used to be a military outpost, it is very well organized and has everything that they would have required. Housing, administration offices, warehouses, stores, medical clinic, latrines, kitchens, etc.

Architecture

The architecture looks like a combination of Atlantean and Earth Dwarf because the first wrote up the designs and the dwarves worked them.

Geography

The island is a seamount, that grew off the sea floor to well above the surface of the water.

Climate

The climate is temperate forests, but on the mountaintop it always has a snow cap.
