Vilmarsh
A sodden marshland. Practically treeless, it is sparsely populated by farmers (of Sodderoot), peat-cutters, marsh-shoe whittlers and the followers of Hw. Beris. Buildings are on stilts in the marsh and to move around one must stick to the wooden walkways or have marsh shoes. It is also on stilts. Everything smells of damp or burning peat in the area.
Also located here are the town’s gallows, gibbets and graveyards of poor, criminals and the wretched. It is said that few remain peacefully resting in this ground and the frequent disappearances in the marsh are often ascribed to the undead.
The Church of Hw. Beris-in-the-Swamp is damp, underwhelming and small.
