First Frost

The northernmost settlement in the Crescent Empire (though not in Crescentia itself), the town of First Frost is also one of the oldest on the continent, and some scholars contend it is one of the oldest sites of civilization upon Arkos. One of the oldest noble families on the continent, the Ashcrows, have ruled over First Frost and the north for longer than the Empire has existed, from the imposing Castle Blain.
Unlike other seats of royalty, the castle is fairly bland and serves as little more than a protective fortress. The castle obtained its name from a Second Age warlord that first constructed it. Currently, the very young Countess Ashcrow is supported by her people as overseer, as both her parents tragically passed after contracting Black Vein.
Connected to Castle Blain is a structure known as the Brink Gate, walling off the frigid Brink Passage, and the last checkpoint on one’s way into the foreboding Brink Lands.
