"What could you possibly gain from all of this?"
"The future! A future without heroes or adventureres. A future without you." - Kross, speaking with The Companions.
A
Dragonborn, now known as the monster Kross, served as a Legate for the
Imperia during the third war between the
Crescent Empire and the
Oreion Inquisition. Successful in battle and training notable figures such as
BattleMaster Riker, Legate Kross was also known to be quite cruel and brutal in his tactics. After intruding on the lands of the northern tribes in the
Brink Lands, the Legate disappeared and was presumed dead by the
Crescentian Imperial Legion.
A year prior to
The Kindling in
Crescentia, Kross re-emerged as a member of
The Followers of Nex as part of the leadership of their Dark Council. Answering to
Lord Remnant, Kross directed a number of the cult's military operations and more abrasive terrorist activities. A monstrous version of his past self, Kross appeared more like an armored bull than he did a humaniod, and was reportedly held together by a number of machanical parts.
After the Followers attack on the orcish settlement of
Belirust, Kross was presumably defeated by the adventuring party known as
The Companions. He then later appeared as an accomplice to
Count Oilncroft. According to differing accounts, he was slain several times after his initial encounter with the Companions, being rebuilt after every defeat.
Kross was later confirmed to be slain for good during the
Battle of the New Dawn in
Imperia, with
Kal'raan tearing his head and spine off.
