Brace of Spades

The Brace of Spades is a popular halfling tavern near the town square of Bridon Tillage. The establishment caters largely to the halfling community of the village, but also includes larger-sized seating on the patio for larger races.   There are sometimes arguments between the halfling families of Bridon Tillage about where the tavern gets its name; some believe it is named solely after the town's founder, Bridon Leabrace, and others believe it is named for the pair of spades Bridon used when he first came to Tarteria.

Description

The inside of the tavern is cottage-like in design, with long communal tables made of warm woods. The roof is supported with wide arches decorated with wreaths of dried wild berries and sprigs of bay leaves. Large casks of flavorful ales and lagers are tapped and served from the barside and iron tea kettles bubble in the bright stone hearth. Above the hearth hangs an oil painting of the town’s founder, Bridon Leabrace, along with the two shovels he himself used to till this land.   Out the front entrance is a wide, elevated patio with a wooden bannister and short staircase leading to the Fieldway Road. A number of tables sized for larger folks are set on this patio area, which provide a view of the town square.
