Lothered's Lighthouse is a lighthouse on the
Serra Coast of
Tarteria. It is located in the elven colony of
Calen Estel and overlooks the
Azimuth Ocean. It also functions as an outpost for the city's Cliff Guard.
The lighthouse is named after
Leader-Elect Reylen Lothered, the currently elected leader of
Soretta, the Undying Aristocracy.
Description
Lothered's Lighthouse is built on a spire of limestore that is 200-feet above the ocean. The column is separated from the rest of the
Serra Coast cliffs and out into the sea about 300 feet.
This column is connected by a thin bridge spanning from this column to the rest of
Calen Estel. The bridge has a number of rounded arches supporting it. Due to its height, there is a second flat section spanning across that supports the upper section of the bridge. A member of the Cliff Guard patrols the bridge section.
The lighthouse is is a tall, rounded lighthouse made of shining white stone that comes to a platform point about 50 feet high. At the tower's base, the entrance to the lighthouse is doorway on a raised platform. From this platform, two sets of short, curving stairs lead down. Around the base are a number of evenly spaced, blue columns that rise up half of the lighthouse's height. At the top of these columns is a thin, shingled ledge that runs around the circumference of the tower. The rest of it comes out from this, leading to a flat top. On top of the tower are four golden statuaries designed like metallic bird wings, which jut straight upwards like a crown around the lighthouse’s crest. From between these four golden wings, a magical light shines outward, sweeping up and down the coast.
Inside, there are a number of different levels. The base level is split into three sections, with one being an office of some kind. A carpet leads from the entrance door to a central column spiral staircase that provides access to the other levels.
The lower level is a dark, open basement that appears to have been dug directly out of the limestone column. There is a square holding cell cut into the limestone cliff with rusted metal bars and a lockable gate. There are a number of storage crates and boxes along the side of the chamber. On one side is a section of wooden wall set against the natrual stonework.
In the upper level of the tower is a landing area with a table and a number of chairs. It appears this area is used by the Cliff Guard for meetings or gatherings. There are two rooms off from this area. One is a storage area containing a number of weapons racks as well as a lockable chest used to hold items from prisoners.
The central column staircase does lead up from this level to the top roof of the lighthouse where the magical light that sweeps the coast is.

The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings
On 23 Madaet 5A 352,
Ilmendwyth attacked the Cliff Guard on patrol on the bridge and snuck into the lighthouse. Inside, he broke
Rudok out of the holding cell and retrieved his missing items from the storage room in the upper level. The pair then snuck back out of the lighthouse across the bridge and into
Calen Estel.
