The Strozahn Water

Current Month: Julwar 2nd: 209, The Fifth Age
The Strozahn Water is a brown, rocky lake in the Western Dales, surrounded by cliffs and steep hills. Nearly every river north of the Imperial Plains lead, inevitably, to Strozahn Water. The lake experiences seasonal floods, brought on by the spring thaw, spilling out into ravines along its length to the east and south. These floods create gullies of pits of standing water that explode the local populations of mosquitoes, stirges, snakes, and assassin vines. At its depths, the Strozahn Water is bountiful, roiling with pike, longnose gar, bluegill, and fanged eels. The eels in particular are heavily valued, considered a rare delicacy on the tables of New Carmile and the Aurumfels, and the fisherman who plumb the depths of the lake are slow to give up the secrets of avoiding their vicious bites, and grasping their slippery skins.   A monstrous creature known only as the Strozahn Beast seems to prowl its depths. Though the sightings are many, there hasn't been a reported attack yet. Still, fishermen tend to keep to the shallows when possible.
