The Adventure so Far 11: I Ship It
General Summary
The party of Amdhi, Dilweed, Ivasaar TharrowThrorn, Llywelyn & Lord Gray ventured to Eastmere to meet with Zinzira MoonGazer. Arriving in the Sunken Palace, those who had met her before felt as though she was acting strangely, and much more aloof and said things like "I'm waiting for me to get here".
After a time, another Zinzira entered acting much more like herself, yet paying no mind to her duplicate. She held two ornate scrolls held in a metal case with a strap to carry on her shoulder and expressed that it was her that they'd be transporting to the Eternal Rampart. The group travelled to their vessel, The Natalia and set course to the Irenic Foundation, along the way facing hungry sea monsters and otters.
Zinzira, admitted the purpose of this mission, to deliver unto a representative of the Irenic Foundation one of two agreements she had penned to free Eastmere from the bounds of the Drakenheim Demilitarization Directive. One was a declaration of Eastmere's independence from the Commonwealth of Humanity and the other was an offer of vassalization to the Irenic Foundation. While she seemed conflicted Llywelyn counciled that no one would look out for her interests more than herself.
As they arrived at the apex of the Eternal Rampart they ventured upwards until they found a guard, who used magic to seemingly notify others of the party's arrival. Then seemingly the entire Convocation were transported in front of them, a crowd of Irenic nobility led by Emperor Iliberos MoonFire and joined by Atrussa TharrowThorn. Amdhi seemed to find this amusing and attempted to fist bump the Emperor of 600 years, a Celestial appeared between the two, seemingly guarding the emperor, it was soon dismissed by him and it seemed as though some of the burden of time was lightened slightly by such a simple thing.
While Zinzira was shaken, Llywelyn reminded her of what they had said previously. Zinzira dropped one scroll, stepped forward and declared her intent for an Eastmere that was free from both the Irenic Foundation and the Commonwealth of Humanity. Emperor MoonFire sought to interrogate her trustworthiness through those she travelled with, when it came to why they had brought a Kenku in Lord Gray, Llywelyn tried to play it off as though they'd dressed up a Halfling as a bird, a ploy that didn't seem to sit well with the Emperor.
Emperor MoonFire then stated that Eastmere could do as it wished, but they shouldn't rely on the Irenic Foundation helping, as it seemed clear to him that the Commonwealth of Humanity was destined to fall at the Cataclysms. Ivasaar countered that if the Irenic Foundation did nothing, he was condemning them, to which Emperor MoonFire agreed, and turned his attention to Zinzira raising up the orbs he carried, which glowed and sent a beam of light towards Zinzira MoonGazer. Llywelyn quickly rushed to Zinzira taking the brunt of the attack, but Zinzira was alive. Emperor MoonFire seemed undeterred and moved towards Zinzira, at this moment each attempt to get close was blocked by a celestial appearing from some aura around the Emperor, raised up his hand, and after the blinding beam of light and shot towards her, Zinzira was no more.
The courtiers and the Emperor soon returned back, leaving the party and Atrussa TharrowThorn. Laying into motion their plans for the future.
