Karnaggonn, the Morning Star Character in Deabros | World Anvil

Karnaggonn, the Morning Star

Karnaggonn is a spiritual creature eternally tasked with carrying the souls of the judged across the sky. It is completely impartial in this task and has been fulfilling its duty since the dawn of creation. By this measure, it cannot, in any sense, truly die. It has always returned to this task, collecting scattered souls on behalf of the gods. It always will. It is a cosmic force, an inevitability.

Trapped in a Mountain

In the year 475, a mining incident accidentally trapped Karnaggonn within a mountain near Rikgrasz. Volthaarius, the Traveler in the Silver Mist sent dreams and nightmares out into the world in a plea for help. This effort led to the creation of the Volunteers, who successfully followed the dreams and nightmares to Karnaggonn, where they rescued him from hostile threats and released him from the mountain. It is Karnaggonn who reveals the truth about himself, Volthaarius, and Umunairu, the Storm Mother to the Volunteers.   Later that year, Karnaggonn reaches out to the Volunteers by way of Volthaarius' dreams and asks for them to end the quickly escalating wars breaking out all over the land, as Karnaggonn cannot keep up with the demands of judging so many souls on his own. Karnaggonn also establishes a Pact with Artain Keltia and Thubbo to provide them power in exchange for their help in judging souls.
