The Jungle's Claw #001

General Summary

Game date: 11th day of the Crow, Year 13944

In the treacherous landscape of the Kanonos Region of Nolavor, where danger hangs heavy in the air and dark rivers snake through the land, Thronn and Fouk found themselves at the threshold of the Jungle Claw Tavern. Thronn, marked by the scars of his past as a child soldier in the Bloodclaw warband, surveyed the room with a blend of caution and skepticism. Fouk, a rogue hailing from the distant desert nation of Vorcia, had been shaped by a harsh upbringing on the streets of Bianda-Tul, under the tutelage of The Shadim, a shadowy guild of thieves. A shipwreck a year prior had cut him off from his homeland, leaving him to navigate the challenges of Nolavor while grappling with his own vices.
  Upon entering the tavern, they were abruptly confronted by two of its regular patrons: Ravus, a Kenku skilled in forgery, and Thorn, a Bugbear mercenary with a penchant for violence. The sudden and brutal attack seemed ritualistic in its intensity. However, before the situation could escalate further, Kurgan, the tavern's enigmatic owner, along with his Warg companion Fangor, intervened. Kurgan diffused the tension, banishing Ravus and Thorn for the remainder of the day.
  After the altercation, Thronn and Fouk took seats at the bar to hear what Kurgan had to offer. For Thronn, the mission was clear-cut: track down and capture two escaped child soldiers from his former warband, the Bloodclaw. Though the task had personal implications, Thronn was solely driven by the potential financial rewards and the opportunity to improve his social standing. Fouk's mission was more cryptic but no less urgent. He was to investigate the source of the poisoned stream near the tavern. Though he couldn't pinpoint the exact nature of the toxin, Fouk was certain it originated from some illicit activities further upstream.   As they accepted their respective missions, the haunting melodies of the Harmonicon of Eternal Dissonance filled the air of the Jungle Claw Tavern. Thronn, motivated by the prospect of gold and status, prepared to embark on his quest with a sense of detachment. Fouk, on the other hand, was a man torn between two worlds. Stranded in Nolavor, he was driven by a dual need: to satisfy his growing addictions and to amass a cache of valuable local drugs. His ultimate aim was to return to Vorcia, a plan riddled with uncertainties and complicated by his own weaknesses. As they readied themselves to leave the tavern, it was abundantly clear that their paths were set to plunge them deeper into the perilous heart of Nolavor. Far from being a sanctuary, the Jungle Claw Tavern was merely the first step in a journey fraught with unknown dangers and complex moral choices.
