Historical Details

History

A few other Books the group noticed on the desk were the Journal of Tharros and Monster Hunting Guide.

Barlo checked out the Monster Hunting Guide.

The party looks at the Dead Displacer Beasts, and they peruse the Monster Hunting Guide for some info and input from Bastion Bladesinger and Calliope Galanodel -- they realize these things are from the Feywild. They were used to capture and hunt certain animals. They are intelligent and escaped.   They despise Blink Dogs, which will attack them on sight.   They like to hunt not just for food but also for fun.

Barlo had been reading the Monster Hunting Guide and realized there might be value in the Wraith motes. He put what he could into an empty bottle he had (survival 9), and using his knitting needle; he got just a bit of "Wraith Dust Dust," a very small amount as it crumbled and disintegrated as he collected -- It didn't help when Arktos came over and sneezed.

Tharros the Wanderer: "I knew that with you guys, the well would bring you here. I've been watching you. At first, it was because I wanted my stuff back.   Then I realized the Monster Hunting Guide was a bit outdated and I have a better copy, besides most of the notes in that one are not true.   I'm not too concerned with the notes and the book you took from Fistandia was a temporary experiment. No longer works and it's a good thing as it is in your Bag of Holding."   He also wasn't too concerned about the pieces of mirror they stole. He was even fine with them taking his cloak.

A bit of discussions about the types of Hags and their unique magic. There is also a discussion on how 3's & 8's are important to the Feywild, including how Hags tend to be in covens of 3 granting them even more power than them outside of such a situation. There is also a type of Hag which is a fiend and not a fey. (much of this comes from Calliope Galanodel's history and Barlo's studying of the Monster Hunting Guide.

Since Barlo has read the Monster Hunting Guide he is aware that Beholders float and like traps on the ground since they are safe. Barlo goes up to check out one of the holes in the roof. Using the rope he gets up about 60 feet and still sees it goes up.
