in DragonforgedThere are a total of 9 gods known to inhabit the Outer Planes. Each one is associated with an Outer Plane, an alignment, a cleric domain, and a school of magic. Although alignment is not as definable for a typical PC, stout followers of a particular deity will most likely follow their alignment closely. As noted in the character options, a cleric of a chosen domain will follow that same deity and (potentially) act in accordance with that same alignment. Although wizards are more academic than religious, each school of magic is typically associated with one of the deities. For example, a wizard that specializes in abjuration magic may not "worship" any single god; or they may only occasionally call on Oghma to bless their arcane research. Each god also has a portfolio listed. These are just examples of the types of things that god is thought to preside over. It is not an all-inclusive list nor are they exclusive. For example, Silvanus is the god of all nature, but Sune is associated with the sun as the goddess of beauty and light.
