Ysans
The Ysans1 are a Mörkel tribe inhabiting southern Outer-Dagtí on the northeastern Plain of Kings, around the town of Kanril at the southern bank of the upper Ellú River. Their traditional territory borders that of the Útlúks to the north.
Originally from what is now the kingdom of Lelenda to the west, the Ysans were among the first Mörkels to settle in Outer-Dagtí and managed to hold fast to their culture and language despite later being conquered by the North-Dagtíans, unlike the neighbouring Útlúks.
Ysans are particularly skilled with using slings for hunting Randanas and other birds in the reeds around the river and use the plumage to craft intricate feather cloaks, which are mostly worn when performing their randana dance during late spring, and also given to the king as tribute. Traditionally, Ysan warriors wear a necklace adorned with a single randana feather as a sign of vigilance.
