Demons
Demons are beings of Chaotic Evil, born in the Abyss, they delight in the pain and suffering of others, and care little. If not for the endless power struggle amongst them different Demon Lords, the Abyss would pose an existential threat to the rest of existence. As it is, the Demons delight in hoarding the ever expanding Abyss.
The Abyss itself is a bottomless pit, where the souls of the darkest and cruelest end up after being judged by Troth. Originally formed by the arrival of the Abysmal Shard, a piece of true concentrated power from a long dead universe, sent forth as a last ditch attempt to survive the inevitable end of there own universe, it was activated in the Elemental Planes, and many types of demons we know today were formed from beings that were caught up in its cataclysmic whirlpool, as its power expanded. Horrifying creatures emerged from the bottom of the whirlpool, and the power of the Shard, and the Chaotic planes of elements fell out of the the Elemental Planes, into its own new plane of existence.
Little is known to the Scholars of Eldridth of the histories of hell, though Clementis during His time amongst our Scholars did teach much about histories of Hell as understood by the Celestial Beings, and others have dedicated there lives to uncovering more, though this pursuit is often taboo, for the inherent risk not just to someone summoning a demon, but to the world at large if something were to go wrong, which is what Clementis had so explained.
There are many different kinds of demons, though few have ever been documented within Aygess, but many Holy Order of Ageis Knights will study and share the teachings on different types of Demons, and so this knowledge is generally available to those who know where to look. Below is a list of the different kinds of known demons to exist:
