Narrena
Goddess of Art, Beauty, and Love
Narrena (NAH-reh-NAH) is the goddess of Art, Beauty, and Love. She was born about 30,000 years ago as Narrena Cahri, an Atlantean Aasimar from Atlantis.
History
Narrena was born in 1A 5802 in the newly-founded city of Atlantis. Even at an early age, she showed a great aptitude for both poetry and performance arts (singing, acting, etc.) as well as a great potential in her use of magic and psionics. By the time she was 30, she was already a celebrated actress, playwright, and poet, especially her romantic works. She composed and performed for most of her second century of life, quickly becoming the most famous poet in the known world.
In 1A 5952, she decided she wanted to impart her knowledge of the arts to others, and started a school out of her home in Atlantis. Aspiring artists came from across the world to learn from her, and the school quickly expanded into the Bard's College of Atlantis. The artists taught by the school created more and more great works under Narrena's tutelage, starting Atlantis' first Golden Age of Arts and Culture. Her efforts were recognized by the city leaders, Aleneanna Rohum, Khaldir Iscaran, and Rhuxaros Eterom, and they made Narrena the first Cultural Minister of the Nation-State of Atlantis.
Narrena remained Cultural Minister for nearly two millennia. Under her guidance, the culture of Atlantis flourished and spread far and wide. In her time as cultural minister, she became an incredibly shrewd bureaucrat and diplomat, and was often allowed to tour the world, which gained her much international notoriety and allowed her to build close relations with the leaders of the other Atlantean states. During this time, a great many people attempted to get her to run for the office of Primarch, the elected executive of Atlantis, but she was content where she was.
In 1A 7810, Narrena finally gave into her supports and runs for Primarch, where she is elected in a landslide. Under her primarchy, she pushed to unify the disparate nations of Atlantea, finally doing so in 1A 7837 when the world leaders ratified a treaty, unifying under her primarchy. At that moment, the Atlantean Unity was born and for over a millennium, stood as a beacon of peace, harmony, and liberty.
In 7960, Narrena decided she would not run again for the primarchy, citing growing mental instabilities that plagued her for most of her last term. Narrena soon learned that these issues were a result of the growing power of Zolena in the Material Plane, and she fought against her influence for next millennium before succumbing to Zolena's corruption. After she fell, Narrena began to gather political support among the Atlantean people, under the guise of running for office again. However, in 1A 8927, her true plans were revealed when she led a coup and captured the primarch and his cabinet and executed them publicly. Narrena then declared herself Empress and sole ruler of the new Atlantean Empire.
Within the first several decades of her rule, Narrena saw a number of challenges to her regime. The most notable challenge was Roemis' Rebellion in 1A 8970, when Roemis Therul led his supporters to riot in the streets while he tried to assassinate Narrena. Narrena captured Roemis and executed him, but just as his supporters began to disperse, Elys appeared before the crowd to declare Roemis a new god. His supporters attacked Narrena and her guards with renewed fervor, to honor the sacrifice of the now martyred Roemis, but most were killed or captured in the ensuing battle.
After a several centuries as Empress, with Narrena wrestling with Zolena for control of her mind the entire time, Selena appeared before her and, in front of the entire Empire, banished Zolena's hold from her mind. Narrena was heartbroken by what she had done to her people, and over the next two-and-a-half centuries attempted to rectify as much as she could. Unfortunately, the roots of the Empire had become too ingrained into Atlantean culture, so the Empire persisted, but with the her power kept in check by a freely elected parliament and a constitution to protect the right of her citizens from any further tyranny.
After doing what she could to rectify her mistakes, Narrena finally allows herself to pass on. Upon her death, Selena declared that Narrena had redeemed herself in her eyes and ascended her as the Goddess of Art, Beauty, and Love.
After her ascension, Narrena kept close watch on the future Emperors, warning all of them to beware of Zolena's influence, lest they fall to her as she did. Narrena continued this tradition after the emergence of the Pendragon dynasty with Nigellus Pendragon, and began once again upon the reemergence of the line with Natasha Pendragon.

Relationships
Narrena’s closest ally is Selena, her patron in life, and her lady as a goddess. She is often seen in Selena’s company as she considers herself Selena’s handmaiden, though Selena sees no difference in status between the two. Narrena is also very close to Ydona, the joy Ydona brings is an inspiration and muse to many of Narrena’s followers, as well their followers venerate the two together with festivals showcasing art and music. Despite their differences, Narrena is close to Alene and Khaldir, as she was in life.
Narrena pities Naheia and tries to influence her towards the side of good. Additionally, she tries to support Nocticula in her ascent whenever she can.
Narrena is considered to be one of the most pacifistic of the gods, thus she does not openly act against any gods, with the exception of Zolena, as Zolena controlled her for a time in life and nearly caused her to bring everything she held dear to ruin, and Lamashtu, who has some twisted fascination with Narrena, which utterly horrifies her.
Narrena's descendants from when she was a mortal were the Imperial family of the Atlantean Empire. She is the ancestor of all of the living members of the Cahri, Maynett, and Pendragon families.

Appearance
Narrena appears as she did as a mortal. She appears as an Atlantean with copper hair, indigo eyes, and pale skin. She wears a gown of bright red silk trimmed with gold and crimson, red flats, and gilded bracers. She always has a quiver of arrows and her shortbow, as well.
Church of Narrena
As the goddess of passion and beauty, artists of all media worship Narrena as their patron, and as the goddess of love, she is commonly worshipped by lovers.
Clergy
Narrena’s clergy is primarily composed of bards and clerics. Her priests wear richly adorned robes that accentuate the human form, but they are nothing if not tasteful, and all her priests practice the arts in some way, be they actors, painters, poets, musicians, or composers. Because of her worry over Lamashtu, Narrena does grant abilities to both Redeemers and Liberators.
Additionally, because Narrena believes in protecting natural beauty, as well as manmade, numerous rangers and the occasional druid join the ranks of her church.
