Alene
Alene (uh-LEEN) is the goddess of justice, honor, and righteousness. She was born about 30,000 years ago as Aleneanna Rohum, an Atlantean from Atlantea.
History
Alene was born a mortal. As a mortal, she, Clydon, Khaldir, and Rhuxaros led the atlanteans to make a formal society and founded the city of Atlantis. The four of them ruled Atlantis as a ruling council until their respective deaths. During this time, Alene, Khaldir, and Rhuxaros wrote the first recorded code of laws in Atlantean history. However, she is most known for establishing the first court to interpret and enforce the laws fairly.
Over the course of her life, she fought Rhuxaros numerous times in order to curb his influence, their first duel coming at the cost of her eyes. Due to her lack of sight, she eventually honed her psionics enough to use her abilities to “see” allowing her to function. Eventually, she and Rhuxaros killed each other in a final battle. Simultaneously, Asmodeus ascended Rhuxaros and Elys raised Alene to godhood.
As a god, Alene typically plays a leading role in the Eternal Conflict. She also strives to mediate conflicts between the gods of good.

Relationships
Alene is married to Khaldir. Alene still sees herself as Elys’ humble servant, and acts as his and, to a lesser extent, Selena’s retainer. Alene is also close to Adon, Gaia, Mylara, and Nieyr. She is also very close with Narrena, despite her chaotic attitude, as they were good friends in life.
Alene sees Adia and Ydona as too flighty, but ultimately knows she can rely on them if she needs to. She also has a tenuous alliance with Breana as Breana represents what Alene sees as a "necessary evil to a civilized society."
Alene’s biggest enemies are Asmodeus and Rhuxaros, though she will gladly come to the aid of any god of good against a god of evil.

Appearance
Alene retains much of her appearance as she did in life. She has long bronze hair, which she keeps in a single braid, and pale skin. She wears full plate mail over a medium blue tunic and dark blue trousers with a medium blue tabard over her armor. She also wears a medium blue blindfold, having lost her eyes in a battle with Rhuxaros while the two were still mortal.
Church of Alene
Alene is the goddess of justice and righteousness, thus among her followers are numerous idealistic knights, paladins, and goodly warriors who seek to spread good and fight evil throughout the world. However, she is a goddess of knowledge too, and thus she supports much more scholarly pursuits, especially the study of law, making her popular amongst lawyers and judges.
Clergy
Alene’s clergy is almost equal parts paladins and champions as it is clerics. Many members of Alene’s clergy, warriors and priests alike, are licensed lawyers as well as priests with more prominent members even being judges. Alene’s clerics tend to wear medium blue cassocks with a golden-yellow stole when around their temples, but all of Alene’s clerics are trained in the art of war as well, and will wear breastplate, or even full plate, when they take to the battlefield.
Many members of Alene’s clergy travel the world, whether on a personal crusade, fighting evil, or just trying to spread what good they can where they can.

Unlike most gods, Alene picks one of her most devout followers to be her mortal herald, something most gods are reluctant to do, and grants them the title of High Justicar. The High Justicars of Alene are almost always paladins, but there have been clerics, inquisitors, champions, or even other followers without a divine calling that have served in the past. The current High Justicar is Ellair MacIain, a paladin and spellsword.
Temples and Shrines
Alene’s temples tend to be large and prominent, appearing in almost every decent sized town or city, and places without dedicated temples to Alene tend to have a shrine within the temple of another god. Additionally, most courthouses have a shrine to Alene, upon which physical evidence for trials is blessed as part of the legal process.
