Jerry
Jerry is subdivided into three areas: the docks, the drylands, and the farmlands. However, all work together as a cohesive community. People here actually help one another out, making Jerry one of the friendlier suburbs of the City of Cartoons. In fact, situated "across the river" as they are (referring to the Blue River), most Jerrys don't really consider themselves part of the City of Cartoons. They know they technically are, but they prefer to think of the City as someplace else.
Demographics
Most people in Jerry are mutants, especially those living near the Blue River. In the Drylands and Farmlands, there are some stock humans, but even there, they are a distinct minority. Synthetics are rare, but not unheard of.Government
Jerry's government consists of a mayor and a 10-member council. The suburb holds elections every four years, and will hold by-elections if a position becomes empty between election years (such as from illness or death). These elections are actually relatively fair. There are often accusations of various high-powered corporations in the City of Cartoons tampering with the votes, but little substantive proof of this. Council members rarely seem to be in the pocket of any of those corporations, and on the rare occasions they are, they are swiftly voted out of office in the next election. The Docks
The Docks are the busiest, most populous area of Jerry. This may be surprising to outsiders, given the radiation from the Blue River. However, Jerrys just consider this a part of life. As they'll say, so long as you don't go in the water, the radiation is pretty mild and is only likely to cause a minor mutation or two every once in a while. The river supplies Jerrys with a living, and that's worth a bit of mutating in their eyes. Jerry's most well-known product is riverboats. Nadir also produces some boats that are sold to other parts of the City of Cartoons, but Jerry produces more, and the boats from Jerry are generally considered superior. Known as "Jerryboats" (see picture above), these motorized river boats have lead shielding to help protect occupants from the radiation of both the Blue River and the Red River. They are quick and manoeuvrable, and have a lot of storage space for their size, making them popular all through the White River Region. The Drylands
The Drylands are a roughly rectangular area east of the Docks, about 2 km wide west to east and running from the edge of the Happy Hunting Grounds in the north to the southern edge of Jerry (about 8 km total length). It is the poorest and most dangerous area of the suburb. The people here remain relatively friendly (in comparison with many other suburbs, at any rate), but the Drylands are also the area of Jerry most likely to come under attack from some creature wandering out of the Happy Hunting Grounds. This is not a frequent occurrence. Jerrys in the Drylands can go about their business most days without worry. However, it happens just often enough that Jerry maintains an active military force here. Patrols of soldiers are frequent, and snipers can often be seen on the roofs of buildings, watching in case something happens. The Farmlands
While Jerry might be most well know for its Jerryboats, its biggest and most profitable product is actually agriculture. Jerry grows most of the food that is consumed in the City of Cartoons. The Farmlands cover the eastern half of Jerry and even stretch beyond the official borders of the City of Cartoons. The ground here is not particularly fertile, but Jerrys have worked it for many years and have eked out hardy crops from it. There is just enough rain here coming off the Highlands of Ethpa that they don't need to rely on carting in water from the White River (water from the nearer Blue River would kill the crops almost instantly).
